Carver Stone (b. 1980, Parker, Colorado) is an American painter whose work explores the boundary conditions that shape both the physical and abstract worlds. His paintings draw inspiration from mathematics and physics, Eastern metaphysics, geology, and the experience of growing up along Colorado’s Front Range.
Working primarily in acrylic, Stone builds his surfaces through thin layers of glaze. This process creates soft atmospheric spaces that echo the faded quality of memory. His paintings are restrained and carefully controlled, often balancing geometry, landscape, and quiet observation.
He holds a B.A. in Mathematics and Economics from Fordham University and a M.S. in Petroleum Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines. He lives and works in Denver.
